Sean Morrison & Andrew McInnes

Sean has been involved in martial arts for the past 20 years. In 1993 he relocated to Tokyo, Japan where he lived and trained intensively for 6 years. He eventually earned the rank of 3rd degree black belt Aikido (San Dan) from Aikikai Hombu Dojo and Sho Dan in Kodokan Judo at Suzuki Dojo in Tokyo.

Blair MacDonald, Bill Peat & Bill Barclay

Blair has been an active judo tournament fighter for the last 12 years. He has fought in competitions all over Ontario and since 2003 has competed in over 20 tournaments, provincial qualifiers and Masters level tournaments. He has competed in the Canadian Masters in 2004, 2005, and 2008, the World Masters in 2005 and the Hatashita International in 2006, 2007 and 2008.



About Us

Musashi Martial Arts was established to provide beginners and experienced students of Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with a quality, progress-oriented learning environment. It is our objective to facilitate a positive atmosphere where students can improve their physical conditioning while learning Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed as each student is encouraged to go at a pace which is comfortable to him or her, whether it be once a week for fitness or five days a week in the quest to compete. Safety is paramount and practice is closely supervised. We are respectful of tradition and lineage but at the same time open to change and innovation recognizing that martial arts are constantly evolving.

Musashi Martial Arts is the first Canadian BJJ academy to be directly affiliated to Robert Drysdale Academy in Las Vegas, Nevada. Robert Drysdale is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with over 90 tournament titles to his credit. His accomplishments include 6 world championships and the 2007 Abu Dhabi Absolute gold title. In 2008 Robert Drysdale held an Assistant Coaching position for Team Mir on Spike TVs Season 8 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). Some of Drysdale's better known BJJ students are UFC fighters Frank Mir, Forrest Griffin and Joe "Daddy" Stevenson. Robert Drysdale Academy is home to some of the most decorated grapplers in the world. Black belt instructors from the Robert Drysdale Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association as well as others elite calibre grapplers and coaches will attend Musashi Martial Arts Dojo on an ongoing basis to provide instruction to students. Robert Drysdale will also attend Musashi Martial Arts to provide technical guidance and conduct grading for full-time Musashi Martial Arts students of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.


Musashi Martial Arts is located in a brand new, fully heated and air conditioned 1700 square foot facility at 41 King Street in Barrie.
